Abstract:
Abstract:
The thesis deals with medieval attitudes to women portrayed in Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales. Polarity between attitudes of male and female narrators of individual tales is explored. Chaucer portrays women both as complex human beings and as one-dimensional entities. The thesis focuses on the division of these attitudes with respect to the narrator's gender.
