The Issues of Motivation in the Profession of Music Field Teachers at Elementary Schools of Arts

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá procesem profesní přípravy na povolání učitele hudebního oboru na základní umělecké škole (ZUŠ). Stěžejním tématem je motivace k volbě tohoto povolání, která je zkoumána u studentů konzervatoře, studentů akademie múzických umění a u učitelů ZUŠ. Východiskem výzkumu byla hypotéza, že studenti, kteří vstupují na konzervatoř, mají svá profesní přání zaměřená mnohem častěji směrem k profesionálnímu hudebnímu působení než k učitelství na ZUŠ, přestože povolání učitele ZUŠ je nejpravděpodobnější profesní variantou absolventů konzervatoře. Cílem výzkumu bylo ověření této základní hypotézy, zmapování vývoje vztahu studentů k profesi učitele ZUŠ během studia na konzervatoři a akademii múzických umění a také zjištění míry přijetí svého povolání učiteli ZUŠ. Výzkum byl realizován metodou dotazníkového šetření, které bylo doplněno testem sémantického výběru. Porovnání výsledků těchto dvou výzkumných metod přineslo díky odhalení dalších souvislostí hlubší vhled do zkoumané problematiky.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the process of a professional preparation for the profession of a teacher in the music field at elementary schools of arts (ESA). The main theme is the motivation for the career choice which is investigated in the conservatory students and academy of performing arts students and in the teachers of ESA. The starting point of the research was the hypothesis that the students who enter conservatory have their own professional dreams focused more often on the professional music performing than teaching at ESA although the profession of the teacher at ESA is the most probable professional variant of conservatory graduates. The aim of the research was the verification of this basic hypothesis, mapping of the development of the students’ relationship to the profession of the ESA teacher during the studies at conservatory and academies of performing arts and also finding out to which extent the teachers of ESA accepted their profession. The research was conducted by the method of questionnaire which was accompanied by the test of the semantic selection. The comparison of the results of these two explorative methods brought a deeper insight into the examined issue thanks to uncovering of other connections.
