Private insurance as a service - analysis of the term and its meaning and significance for the insurer as well as for the policy holder

Abstract:

Na současný stav soukromého pojištění mělo zcela zásadní vliv přijetí celé řady zákonných norem, schválených v době před vstupem naší země do Evropské unie. Tím vstoupilo v květnu roku 2005 soukromé pojištění, jako součást finančního trhu v ČR, do zcela nové etapy dalšího vývoje. Diplomová práce se zabývá nejen konstatováním skutečností, týkajících se soukromého pojištění ve vztahu k jeho významu pro pojistitele a pojistníka, nýbrž i rozborem aplikace jednotlivých legislativních předpisů právě na celou oblast komerčního, resp. soukromého pojištění. Práce analyzuje podmínky rozvoje soukromého pojištění na českém pojistném trhu a zároveň komentuje změny připravovaných legislativních norem, a to až do současnosti. Stěžejním tématem diplomové práce je však, jak již její název napovídá, především analýza vztahů mezi jednotlivými segmenty pojistného trhu s rozšířením o další aspekty v podobě distribučních kanálů pojistných produktů právě soukromého pojištění, a to z hlediska dopadu na konečného „spotřebitele“, tedy pojištěného.

Abstract:

Adoption of a number of legislative norms, prior to the entry of our country into European Union, played essential role in the current state of the private insurance system. As a consequence, the private insurance at the very beginning of 2005, as an integral part of finance market, entered into completely new stage of its future development. The diploma thesis deals not only with simple description of the facts related to the private insurance system in terms of its importance for the insurer as well as the beneficiary of an insurance, but also with the analysis of application of individual legislative regulations to the whole spectrum of commercial and/or private insurance system. The thesis also provides an analysis of conditions and terms for the development of private insurance system within the Czech insurance market and at the same time it gives a commentary on changes in the prepared legislative norms until the present. However, the key issue of the thesis is, as follows from its title, the analysis and assessment of relationships between individual segments of the insurance market with extension on other fields such as the distribution channels of products of private insurance from the viewpoint of their impact on the final beneficiary of certain insurance, actually the insured person as such.
