Anotácia:

Cílem bakalářská práce Twin deficit hypotéza je zkoumání vzájemného vztahu vládního rozpočtového deficitu a deficitu obchodní bilance. V první části jsou uvedena teoretická východiska teorie dvojího deficitu pomocí makroekonomické identity a v rámci vnitřní a vnější nerovnováhy. Dále jsou představeny dva hlavní teoretické myšlenkové směry, týkající se dané teorie, a to Keynesiánský a Ricardiánský. Druhá kapitola se věnuje hospodářskému vývoji vybraných ekonomik, u kterých by se mohl dvojí deficit vyskytovat, společně s analýzou řady studií na dané téma. V závěru práce je testována hypotéza dvojího deficitu pomocí Grangerovy kauzality na vybraných zemích, kterými jsou Irsko, Portugalsko a Itálie.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis: “Twin deficit hypothesis” is examination of interrelation between government deficit and trade deficit. Therefore, the first part is focused on theoretical background of the Twin deficit hypothesis in terms of macroeconomic identity and in framework of internal and external imbalances. Further are presented two main theoretical approaches, the Keynesian and the Ricardian. The second chapter is aimed on economic development of selected economies where the twin deficit could occur, together with a number of studies which dealt the topic. The conclusion of the thesis, the Twin deficit hypothesis is tested using Granger causality in selected countries which are Ireland, Portugal and Italy.
