Nosiči balancované translokace mají obecně větší pravděpodobnost infertility, samovolných potratů či narození postižených potomků. Tito jedinci většinou nemají abnormální fenotypový projev, tudíž preventivní záchyt není možný. Carriers of balanced translocation are generally more likely to be infertile, experience miscarriages or birth of disabled children. These individuals usually do not have an abnormal phenotypic manifestation, therefore preventive detection is not possible.
