The influence of teaching art in art and music school on the process of socialization

Abstract:

Tato práce je hloubkovou sondou do oblasti rozvoje sociálních dovedností ve výtvarném oboru v základní umělecké škole. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, zda ve výuce výtvarného oboru ve vybrané ZUŠ dochází u žáků k rozvoji sociálních dovedností. První tři kapitoly představují teoretický rámec pro navazující výzkumnou část, jsou věnovány základnímu uměleckému školství s důrazem na kolektivní výuku výtvarného oboru a dosti opomíjené problematice vzdělávání nadaných žáků. Se záměrem nastínit, čím se výuka výtvarné výchovy v ZUŠ liší od jiných typů škol, je zařazena i kapitola popisující průběh výuky výtvarného oboru ve zmíněné škole. Velký prostor je vyčleněn vymezení pojmu socializace a popisu vnějších i vnitřních faktorů sehrávajících roli v socializačním procesu. Závěr teoretické části je zaměřen na oblast sociálních dovedností a vliv uměleckých aktivit na socializaci jedince. Výzkumná část obsahuje metodologickou strukturu výzkumu včetně analýzy a interpretace dat. Sběr dat byl proveden formou polostrukturovaného dotazování metodou skupinového interview a strukturovaných rozhovorů se záměrem získat hlubší poznání daného tématu, které vychází z osobních zkušeností žáků. Výsledky jsou prezentovány pomocí výzkumných kategorií, v nichž jsou data rozdělena dle určitých typů sociálních dovedností. Výjimkou je poslední kategorie, která sdružuje informace související s distanční formou výuky a zprostředkovává pohled na rozvoj sociálních dovedností v době on-line výuky očima žáků i pedagoga. Z výpovědí respondentů jsou zřejmé posuny v oblasti sebepoznání, sebehodnocení, autenticity a komunikace. Informanti pozitivně zhodnotili vliv výuky výtvarného oboru na rozvoj své kreativity i mimo prostředí ZUŠ a zmínili se o psychohygienické funkci tvůrčí činnosti v kolektivu obdobně naladěných jedinců. Výsledky výzkumu potvrzují, že je studium výtvarného oboru v uvedené škole v oblasti rozvoje sociálních dovedností pro žáky přínosné.

Abstract:

This work is an in-depth probe into the development of social skills in arts education in art and music schools. The aim of the work is to find out whether the teaching of art in a selected art and music school has an effect on the development of social skills. The first three chapters provide a theoretical framework for the follow-up research part, they are devoted to arts education in art and music schools with an emphasis on the collective teaching of art and the rather neglected issue of education of gifted pupils. In order to outline how the teaching of art in the art and music school differs from other types of schools, there is also a chapter describing the course of teaching art in the said school. A large part of this work is concerned with defining the concept of socialization and describing the external and internal factors playing a role in the socialization process. The conclusion of the theoretical part focuses on the field of social skills and the influence of artistic activities on the socialization of an individual. The research part contains the methodological structure of the research, including the analysis and interpretation of data. The gathering of data was carried out in the form of semi-structured questioning using the method of group interviews and structured interviews with the intention to gain a deeper knowledge of the given topic, which is based on the personal experience of pupils. The results are presented using research categories, in which the data are divided according to certain types of social skills. One exception is the last category which brings together information related to distance learning and provides an insight into the development of social skills in the age of online learning through the eyes of pupils and educators. From the testimonies of respondents, shifts in the area of self-knowledge, self-assessment, authenticity and communication are evident. Informants positively evaluated the influence of teaching art on the development of their creativity even outside the environment of the school and mentioned improved mental hygiene resulting from creative activity in a group of similarly attuned individuals. The research results confirm that the study of the art field in the said school is beneficial for the development of social skills.
