Projective Technique The Fantasy Animal Game in Children with Behavior Disorders

Abstract:

Tato práce je explorativním výzkumem, zabývajícím se projektivní psychodiagnostikou, která využívá vyprávění fiktivního příběhu dítětem. Snažím se ověřit využitelnost techniky Kresba začarovaného zvířete (Handler) v diagnostice dětí s poruchami chování, a to pokusem o identifikaci rozdílů mezi příběhy vytvořenými dětmi s poruchami chování a bez nich. Vzorek tvořilo 24 dětí, kterým byly diagnostikovány poruchy chování (věkový průměr: 14,79 roku; 16 chlapců, 8 dívek). Kontrolní skupinu tvořilo 17 žáků běžné ZŠ (věkový průměr 13,65 roku; 4 chlapci, 13 dívek). Oběma těmto skupinám byla administrována metoda Kresba začarovaného zvířete, při které si dítě nejdřív vymýšlí a kreslí zvíře ze své fantazie, poté o něm příběh. Následně byl analyzován obsah příběhů (téma, hlavní postava, prostředí příběhu, vedlejší postavy, klíčová událost a konec příběhu), a zjišťována délka textu. Bylo předpokládáno, že určité znaky v příbězích dětí s poruchami chování budou shodné s těmi, které se objeví v příbězích dětí bez těchto poruch, a to zejména témata, která by mohla být vývojově závislá. Zjistila jsem, že v příbězích se objevují témata, která by mohla souviset s obdobím dospívání (samota, nepřijetí, odpoutávání se od rodiny atd.). Jinak si děti s poruchami chování i bez nich pro své příběhy volí témata podobná (samota, nehoda, omezení volnosti atd.), téma samoty se však výrazně častěji objevuje u dětí bez poruch chování. Hlavní postavy příběhů dětí s poruchami chování bývají málo charakterizované, v těchto příbězích je narozdíl od intaktní populace méně explicitně vyjádřených emocí. Děti bez poruch chování mají ve svých příbězích více přátelských vedlejších postav, se kterými má hlavní hrdina příběhu pozitivní vztah. Příběhy dětí s poruchami chování obsahují také o něco méně klíčových událostí, které by byly pro hlavního hrdinu pozitivní, mírně vyšší je také procento negativně končících příběhů. Na základě výzkumů Vančury a Ježka (2005), kteří zjistili vztah mezi délkou textu, vytvořeného dítětem, a tím, jak dítě vnímá své rodinné prostředí, jsem předpokládala, že děti s poruchami chování budou psát kratší texty, což se potvrdilo. Děti s poruchami chování píší výrazně kratší texty, což by mohlo souviset s jejich vnímáním rodinného prostředí jako ne příliš podporujícího a přijímajícího. V závěru práce uvádím pět kasuistik dětí s poruchami chování.

Abstract:

The theme of my diploma thesis is projective assessment, which uses storytelling by a child. I would like to verify the utilization of The Fantasy Animal Game Technique (Handler) in the assessment of children with behaviour disorders. I try to identify differences between the stories written by children with behaviour disorders and without them.The research was carried out with a sample of 24 children with the diagnosis behaviour disorder (average age: 14,79 years; 16 male, 6 female). The control group were 17 pupils of a basic school (average age: 13,65 years; 4 male, 13 female). Both groups were administered The Fantasy Animal Game Technique. In this technique the child had to imagine and draw an animal which noone had ever seen, some unknown species. Than it had to write or tell a story about this animal. I analysed the content of all the stories (theme, hero, environment, other persons in the story except the hero, main event and the end of the story), and I was also interested in the length of the text. I expected that there will be some similar aspects in the stories of both groups, for example some themes dependent on the developmental grade of the children. I realised, that there are some common themes in the stories, such as loneliness, separation from the parents etc., which could verify my expectation. Both groups chose similar themes, such as loneliness, accident, lack of liberty etc. The theme of loneliness appears much more often in the stories of children, who do not have behaviour disorders. The hero is often not well characterised in the stories of children with behaviour disorders, there are only few directly expressed emotions in these stories. Children without behaviour problems have many other persons in the stories, these persons are often friendly (at least at the end of the story), and there is a positive relationship between them and the hero. There are only few positive main events in the stories of children with behaviour problems and these stories often do not have a happy ending. Vančura and Ježek (2005) realised in their research, that there is a connection between the length of the text and the character of childs perception of its family environment. If the child does not feel this environment to be supporting an accepting, the text is usually shorter. That is why I expected, that the texts of the children with behaviour problems would be shorter. These children really write shorter sories. At the end of my thesis, there are five case studies about children with behaviour disorders.
