THE CONCEPT OF INTEGRATION OF SUSTAINABILITY ASPECTS INTO THE SYSTEM OF IAS/IFRS

Abstract:

V oblasti účetního výkaznictví, podobně jako u řízení celého podniku, začíná být kladen stále větší důraz na multidimenzionalitu. Vedle ekonomických aspektů vyvstává potřeba zohlednění vlivu podniku také na životní prostředí a společnost. Nicméně stále většina účetních systémů vychází z finančního pohledu na podnik a úroveň sociální a environmentální výkonnosti posuzuje pouze výjimečně. Nejinak je tomu i v případě Mezinárodních účetních standardů. Multidimenzionální měření výkonnosti podniku není v rámci nich možné. Cílem této disertační práce je na tento problém reagovat a navrhnout Koncept integrace aspektů udržitelnosti do systému IAS/IFRS a poskytnout tak jednotný rámec pro reporting v oblasti ekonomického, sociálního a environmentálního působení organizace. V první části disertační práce autorka vymezuje tento klíčový problém, na jehož základě je dále stanoven cíl disertační práce a metodický postup k jeho dosažení. Druhá část disertační práce obsahuje teoretická východiska věnující se problematice Mezinárodních účetních standardů a konceptu udržitelného rozvoje a dále obsahuje výsledky kvantitativního výzkumu, který autorka provedla v oblasti Mezinárodních účetních standardů. Třetí část disertační práce si klade za cíl přispět také k rozvoji praktických aspektů problematiky udržitelného rozvoje a autorka uvádí vlastní návrh Konceptu integrace aspektů udržitelnosti do systému IAS/IFRS včetně všech strukturálních částí (katalog sociálních a environmentálních faktorů, klasifikaci požadavků zúčastněných stran na zveřejňované informace, návrh na úpravu a doplnění Koncepčního rámce IAS/IFRS, návrh na úpravu a doplnění IAS 1, návrh standardu Environmentální účetní výkaznictví, návrh standardu Sociální účetní výkaznictví, metodiku implementace do podnikové praxe) a následného ověření konceptu v podnikové praxi. V poslední části práce jsou formulovány závěry a diskutovány doporučené návrhy pro praxi.

Abstract:

In the field of financial reporting, as in managing of an entire enterprise, there is a beginning of putting increasing emphasis on the multidimensionality. Besides the economic aspects, the need of taking into account the impact of the enterprise on the environment and society arises. However, still majority of the accounting systems are based on the financial view of the enterprise and the level of social and environmental performance is assessed in exceptional cases only. The case of International accounting standards does not vary. Multidimensional measurement of business performance is not possible within these standards. The aim of this thesis is to react on this issue and propose a concept of integrating sustainability aspects into the IAS/IFRS system and provide a uniform framework for reporting on economic, social and environmental performance of the organization. In the first part of the thesis the author identifies the key issue that provides the base of which further aim of thesis and methodical procedure to achieve it is being set. The second part of the thesis contains theoretical solutions of handling the International Accounting Standards issue and the concept of sustainable development as well as the results of quantitative results research that was carried out within the International Accounting Standards by the author. The third part of the thesis aims to contribute to the development of practical aspects of the sustainable development and author presents her very own proposal of the Concept of sustainable development aspects integration into the IAS/IFRS system including all structural parts (a catalogue of social and environmental factors, a classification of stakeholders requirements for information disclosures, a proposal to adjust and supplement the IAS/IFRS Conceptual Framework, a proposal to adjust and supplement the IAS 1, a proposal of Environmental Financial Reporting Standardization, a proposal of Social Financial Reporting Standardization, methodology of implementation into the business practice) and subsequent proof of this concept in business practice. In the last part conclusions are formulated and recommended proposals for the practice are discussed.
