Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na charakteristiku průmyslových odpadů vznikajících následkem spalování uhlí a představujících jednu z forem aktuálních ekologických zátěží. Lokalitou zvolenou ke studiu je halda struskového materiálu ležící v katastrálním území města Oslavany. Rešeršní část práce je věnována dostupným poznatkům o těchto odpadech, zejména pak o popílcích.
