The relationship between air pollution and human health in regions

Abstract:

Tématem této závěrečné práce je studie vztahu znečištění ovzduší a lidského zdraví ve vybraných zemích a regionech NUTS II. V literární rešerši jsou vymezena teoretická východiska, která přibližují problematiku znečištění ovzduší a vývoj společenského postoje k otázkám životního prostředí. Jsou prezentovány výsledky vědeckých studií zabývajících se vlivu znečištění ovzduší na zdraví. Vlastní práce zkoumá míru znečištění regionů u vybraných látek (PM2,5; PM10; NO2) v letech 2000-2019 a výskyt nemocí s následkem úmrtí na respirační infekce, nemoci průdušnic, průdušinek a rakoviny plic, kardiovaskulární onemocnění a nemoci dýchacích cest. Porovnání těchto výsledků poukazuje na souvislost mezi vývojem znečištění ovzduší a počtem zemřelých pouze u kardiovaskulárních onemocnění. Současně nebyla identifikována souvislost porovnávaných výsledků mezi vývojem znečištění ovzduší prachovými částicemi PM2,5 vybraných regionů NUTS II a vývojem zdravé délky života.

Abstract:

The theme of this thesis is the study of the relationship between air pollution and human health in selected countries and regions NUTS II. In the part of literary research are defined theoretical bases that approach the issue of air pollution and the development of social attitudes to the questions about environmental issues. Results of scientific studies dealing with the impact of air pollution on health are presented. The next part is being examined the degree of concentration of selected substances (PM2,5; PM10; NO2) in the years 2000-2019 and illness with a consequence of death from respiratory infections, trachea, bronchial and lung cancer, cardiovascular diseases and respiratory diseases. A comparison of these results shows the association between the development of air pollution and the number of deaths only in cardiovascular diseases. At the same time, no correlation of the results compared between the development of air pollution by PM2.5 particles of selected NUTS II regions and the development of healthy life expectancy was identified.
