The Influence of Organizational Culture on Teachers` Motivation in a Selected Secondary School

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je nalézt odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku: „Jak působí organizační kultura vybrané střední školy na motivaci jejích pedagogických pracovníků?“. Práce se tedy soustředí na zkoumání organizační kultury a motivace ve školním prostředí a je rozdělena do tří částí. Teoretická část práce se zabývá podstatou kultury organizace a kultury školy a také poznáním základů pracovní motivace. Druhá část práce popisuje metodologii výzkumu, při němž byla využita kvalitativní metoda polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s pedagogickými pracovníky vybrané střední školy. Závěrečná část práce představuje zjištěné prvky kultury vybrané střední školy, ztotožnění zaměstnanců s touto kulturou a její působení na motivaci pedagogických pracovníků školy. V závěru jsou rovněž předložena doporučení pro vedení školy, jak dále posilovat kulturu školy a pracovní motivaci zaměstnanců.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to find the answer to the main research question: “How does the organizational culture of a selected secondary school affect the motivation of its teachers?”. The thesis focuses on the study of organizational culture and motivation in the school environment and it is divided into three parts. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the essence of the organization culture, the school culture, and the basics of work motivation. The second part describes the research methodology, which used a qualitative method of semi-structured interviews with teachers of a selected secondary school. The final part of the thesis presents the identified elements of the organizational culture of the selected secondary school, the employees' identification with this culture and its effect on the motivation of teachers. There are also some recommendations for school management at the end of the thesis, how to strengthen the school culture and work motivation of employees.
