The evolution of Steinbeck's writing and beliefs in relation to Marxism.
Abstract:
This thesis examines the evolution of the writing of an American writer John Steinbeck, who, at the beginning of his writer's career, strongly inclined towards Marxism. The first chapter serves as a brief introduction to the theory of Marxism and humanism. The next chapters are analyses of three books from three different periods of Steinbeck's life. Tato práce zkoumá vývoj literatury amerického spisovatele Johna Steinbecka, který na začátku své spisovatelské kariéry silně inklinoval k marxismu. V první části této práce je stručně nastíněna teorie marxismu a humanismu. Následně jsou tyto teorie aplikovány na tři díla z třech různých období Steinbeckova života.
