Circular Economy – Waste Management, Comparison of the Czech Republic and Poland

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá cirkulární ekonomikou, a to s ohledem na nakládání s odpadem v České republice a Polsku. Jejím hlavním cílem je identifikovat přístupy a určit potenciál v rámci nakládání s odpady s principy cirkulární ekonomiky v České republice a Polsku. Teoretická část práce nejprve představí koncepty, ze kterých cirkulární ekonomika vychází a dále hlavní principy a fungování cirkulární ekonomiky. Analytická část práce identifikuje postavení České republiky a Polska v rámci nakládání s odpadem, a to jak v produkci, tak v míře recyklace, ve srovnání se státy Evropské unie a v závěrečné části práce analyzuje ukazatele cirkulární ekonomiky na případu České republiky a Polska.

Abstract:

This master's thesis deals with the concept of circular economy in relation to waste management in the Czech Republic and Poland. Its main objective is to identify approaches and determine the potential for waste management using circular economy principles in the Czech Republic and Poland. The theoretical part of the thesis first introduces the concepts on which the circular economy is based, as well as the main principles and functioning of the circular economy. The analytical part of the thesis identifies the position of the Czech Republic and Poland in waste management, both in terms of production and recycling rates, in comparison to other European Union countries. In the final part of the thesis, circular economy indicators are analyzed using the case study of the Czech Republic and Poland.
