Analysis and Lessons from the Debt Crisis in the Context of Contemporary Debt Crisis

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce je analýza a poučení z dluhových krizí v kontextu současné evropské dluhové krize. Práce vychází z historického kontextu nejvýznamnějších dluhových krizí, u nichž identifikuje společné rysy pro soudobou dluhovou krizi v eurozóně a nutná teoretická východiska pro následující rozbor soudobé krize. Pro analýzu současné dluhové krize byly vybrány státy eurozóny, které krize zasáhla nejvíce. S ohledem na asymetrii informací a možnosti morálního hazardu při řešení krize ze strany státu a nadnárodních institucí práce analyzuje průběh dluhové krize za pomoci systémového přístupu. Systémový přístup pomáhá analyzovat krizi jako komplexní systém, v kterém působí jednotlivé subjekty. Dále autor práce posuzuje možný dopad dluhové krize na exportní možnosti společnosti LINET. Výsledkem práce je autorův návrh na zlepšení sanace problematických finančních institucí a omezení morálního hazardu.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyse and learn from debt crises in the context of the contemporary European debt crisis. The document is based on the historical context of the most significant debt crises, in which it identifies the common features for the current debt crisis in the Eurozone, and the essential theoretical background for subsequent analysis of the current crisis. In order to analyse the current debt crisis, Eurozone countries that were most affected by the crisis were chosen. Given the asymmetrical nature of the information, and the possibility of moral hazard in the resolution of the crisis from the side of the nations and multinational institutions, the document analyses the course of the debt crisis using a systems approach. The systems approach helps to analyse the crisis as a complex system with a number of individual subjects. Additionally, the author also assesses the possible impact of the debt crisis on the export opportunities of the company, LINET. The work concludes with the author's recommendation for improving the rehabilitation of problematic financial institutions and limiting moral hazard.
