Project of the acquisition of a new hospital device at the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in a selected hospital

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce řeší problém nefunkčnosti přístroje na oddělení nukleární medicíny ve vybrané nemocnici a nemožnost splnit kvantitativní požadavky oddělení a zákazníků nemocnice. Cílem práce je návrh procesu nákupu, který povede k pořízení nového přístroje splňující kritéria stanovená oddělením a následné začlenění přístroje do provozu za současné eliminace výskytu možných rizik. Provedeným výzkumem bylo zjištěno, že vlivem nefunkčního přístroje došlo k poklesu úrovně kvality poskytované péče. Dalším důležitým poznatkem výzkumu bylo zjištění, že díky novým detekčním technologiím je možno aplikovat menší množství radiofarmaka pacientům. To vede jak k úspoře finančních prostředků, tak i k menšímu zatížení organismu gama zářením jak u pacientů, tak i u personálu aplikujícího látku. Hlavním výsledkem práce je na základě analýzy potřebnosti, která nám hodnotí pozitiva pořízení nového přístroje, sestavit proces nákupu a zavedení nového přístroje na oddělení nukleární medicíny. To povede k nárustu kvality poskytované péče, větším ziskům za provedená vyšetření a současně budou vyšetření šetrnější k pacientům i personálu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis solves the problem of device malfunctioning at the department of nuclear medicine in the selected hospital and the impossibility to meet the quantitative requirements of the department and the patients. The second device in the department is also very old and it is only a matter of time before he denies service as well. The aim of the work is to propose a purchasing process that will lead to the acquisition of a new device meeting the criteria set by the department and the subsequent incorporation of the device into working process, while eliminating the occurrence of potential risks. The research revealed that due to the malfunctioning device the quality of provided care decreased. Another important finding of the research was the finding that thanks to new detection technologies it is possible to administer smaller amounts of radiopharmaceuticals to patients. This results in both financial savings and less gamma radiation for both patients and hospital staff. The main result of the work is based on the needs analysis, which evaluates the positives of acquiring a new device, building a purchasing process and introducing a new device into the process at the Department of Nuclear Medicine. This will lead to an increase in the quality of care provided, greater profits for the examinations performed, and at the same time the examinations will be more gentle on patients and hospital staff.
