Analysis of the influence of anti-dumping measures on the import of selected commodities from the People´s Republic of China between 2006 and 2016

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce analyzuje vliv antidumpingových opatření na dovoz vybraných komodit z Čínské lidové republiky v letech 2006 až 2016. Teoretická část poskytuje stručný vhled do problematiky cla, celního řízení v České republice, společné obchodní politiky Evropské unie a funkce Světové obchodní organizace. V praktické části autorka nejdříve analyzuje antidumpingová opatření přijatá mezi lety 2006 až 2016. Sebraná data z první části poté autorka srovnává s analýzou velikosti dovozu vybraných komodit do České republiky za stejné období a sleduje případnou korelaci mezi dobou přijetí antidumpingových opatření a snížení velikosti dovozu dané komodity. V poslední části autorka analyzuje celkový dovoz z Čínské lidové republiky do České republiky v letech 2006 – 2016. Ten následně porovnává s celkovým dovozem čtyřech dalších největších importérů do České republiky za stejné období. Jediná hypotéza stanovená na začátku práce se potvrdila u sedmi z devíti vybraných komodit. V závěru práce autorka diskutuje hlavní a dílčí výsledky práce.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis the author examines the influence of anti-dumping measures on the import of selected commodities from the People´s Republic of China between 2006 and 2016. The theoretical part briefly characterizes problems of duties, customs processes in the Czech Republic, European Union ´s common commercial policy and main function of the World Trade Organization. In the case study the author analyzes anti-dumping measures that were accepted between 2006 and 2016. All data gathered in the first part is later compared in terms of the influence on the import of the selected commodities to the Czech Republic. Then the author studies a possible correlation between the decrease of imported commodities and accepted anti-dumping measures. In the last part the author analyzes the overall import to the Czech Republic from the People´s Republic of China and compare it with four other biggest importers to the Czech Republic during the same period. The hypothesis stated at the beginning was confirmed for seven out of nine selected commodities. At the end the author discuss the main and partial results of this thesis.
