Approach of an educator to a pupil with ADHD in a primary school

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou dětí s ADHD na běžných základních školách. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaký je vztah mezi tím, jak učitelé na těchto školách žáka vnímají a tím, jak k němu přistupují. Porucha aktivity a pozornosti je nejprve představena v teoretické části práce z hlediska symptomů, etiologie a komorbidity jakožto východiska pro výběr vhodných intervenčních strategií. Tyto strategie coby důležitá součást komplexního přístupu k dítěti s ADHD jsou následně popsány, neboť představují významné východisko pro sestavení výzkumného nástroje použitého v empirické části práce, která řeší otázku vztahu mezi tím, jak učitelé vnímají žáka s ADHD, a tím, jak hodnotí z hlediska užitečnosti intervenční strategie a jak často tyto strategie při práci s dítětem s ADHD využívají. Data sebraná dotazníkovým šetřením na vzorku třídních prvostupňových učitelů ze základních škol na Mělníku a v nejbližším okolí, byla vyhodnocena pomocí Spearmanova korelačního koeficientu. Výsledky plynoucí ze statistického zpracování potvrzují pro vybraný vzorek hypotézu o existenci pozitivního vztahu mezi zvolenými proměnnými.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of children with ADHD in primary schools. The aim of the thesis is to find out what relationship is between how teachers perceive the pupils and how they approach them. ADHD is first presented in the theoretical part of the work in terms of symptoms, etiology, and comorbidity as the basis for the selection of suitable intervention strategies. These strategies, as an important part of a comprehensive approach to a child with ADHD, are subsequently described because they are an important starting point for building a research tool that is used in the empirical part of the work. This part addresses the question of the relationship between how the teacher perceives a pupil with ADHD and how it evaluates the usefulness of the intervention strategy and how often these strategies are used when working with a child with ADHD. The data collected from a questionnaire survey on a sample of class teachers from primary schools in Mělník and the surrounding area was evaluated using Spearman's correlation coefficient. The results from the statistical processing confirm the hypothesis about the existence of a positive relationship between the selected variables for the selected sample.
