It examines the work of significant American frontier painters and considers contribution of their works from the point of view of their historical and ethnographic value. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá historickými ilustracemi severoamerických Indiánů. Zkoumá především práci významných malířů amerického západu a hodnotí přínos jejich děl z hlediska historického a etnografického. Mimo jiné popisuje život a dílo George Catlina a Karla Bodmera.
