Czech Urban Competitiveness Atlas - Středočeský region

Abstract:

Pojem konkurenceschopnosti regionů je ve vědecké komunitě stále diskutovaným a neujasněným pojmem. Tato práce se snaží nastínit úvod do problematiky a na základě jednoho z mnoha modelů vytvořit atlas konkurenceschopnosti. Jako výchozí model byl zvolen třífaktorový model od Roberta Hugginse z roku 2003 upravený dle českého kontextu. Jako oblast zájmu byl vybrán největší kraj Česka, tedy Středočeský kraj. Na základě modelu byl vypočítán index konkurenceschopnosti a ten následně vizualizován formou kartogramů a kartodiagramů. Index konkurenceschopnosti a mapové výstupy byly nakonec krátce okomentovány.

Abstract:

The notion of competitiveness of region is in the scientific community still under the discussion and the mean of the notion is unclear. This thesis aims to brief look at issues of the notion and based on one the many models create atlas of competitiveness. As the base model was chosen 3-factor model by Robert Huggins from 2003. The model was edited to match Czech context. As the area of interest, was chosen the biggest region of Czechia, Str?edoc?esky? region. On base of this model was calculated competitiveness index and then this index was visualized as cartograms and map diagrams. Eventually competitiveness index and map outputs were briefly commented.
