Career Paths of Employees in an Engineering Company and Their Points of View as for the End of Their Professional Life and Life at Old Age

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce je teoreticko-výzkumná a zabývá se problematikou kariérních drah zaměstnanců ve strojírenské firmě. Konkrétně se tato práce zaměřuje na představy pracovníků o konci jejich kariéry a o jejich způsobu života po odchodu do důchodu. První část této práce je věnována teoretickým východiskům, která jsou důkladně rozebrána, a jsou tak užitečným a kvalitním podkladem pro empirickou část. Teoretická část se přesněji zabývá samotným vývojem kariéry, plánováním kariéry, a také faktory, které mohou mít vliv na odchod do penze. Empirická část následně reaguje na poznatky teoretické části, na kterých zároveň staví a přispívá svým zjištěním k tvorbě návrhové části. V praktické části je na cílové skupině proveden výzkum kvantitativní i kvalitativní a z výsledků jsou vyvozeny návrhy praktických opatření.

Abstract:

This master´s thesis, carried on both theoretical and research grounds, tracks career paths of employees in a particular engineering company. The project is focused on points of view of workers who are approaching the end of their professional life and it deals with their ideas and considerations of the ways, how to spend their retirement. First part of the work includes theoretical assumptions, which are thoroughly analyzed and consequently bring a solid base to the empirical part, which follows afterwards. A great deal of the project is devoted to the development of the career itself, career planning and also to the factors which can influence leaving for pension. The empirical part logically reacts on findings from the theoretical part and these findings create the cornerstone of the proposition part. The practical part shows quantitative and qualitative research, which was carried out within the target group of workers. In the end, results and conclusions arising from the research are used to bring suggestions with practical measures.
