Motivation and satisfaction of employees in selected public administration institutions with focus on employee benefits, employee development and contemporary approaches to work.

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit motivační faktory zaměstnanců ve vybraných institucích státní správy, konkrétně Ministerstva školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy ČR a Ministerstva zdravotnictví ČR, současně posouzení důležitosti zkoumaných motivačních faktorů a zjištění míry spokojenosti s jejich úrovní. Zvolenými motivačními faktory, na které se výzkum zaměřuje, jsou rozvoj zaměstnanců, zaměstnanecké benefity a work-life balance. Dílčím cílem práce je posouzení zvolených institucí jako moderního zaměstnavatele a work-life balance byla pro tento účel zvolena jako hlavní oblast. Výzkum se skládá z kvalitativní a kvantitativní části. Kvalitativní částí jsou polostrukturované rozhovory s personálními řediteli vybraných institucí a kvantitativní část je uskutečněna prostřednictvím vlastního dotazníkového šetření v těchto institucích. Výsledky výzkumu v obou institucích jsou porovnány. Očekávaným přínosem práce jsou navržená doporučení na základě zjištěných výsledků, v případě zjištěných nedostatků i nápravná opatření pro zvýšení motivace a spokojenosti zaměstnanců. První část práce se věnuje teoretickému vymezení základní ideje - motivace, pracovní spokojenosti a vymezení zkoumaných motivačních faktorů. Praktická část práce představuje obě pro výzkum zvolené instituce, zpracovává rozhovory s jejich personálními řediteli a analyzuje dotazníkové šetření. V závěru práce jsou navržena doporučení pro zlepšení motivace a spokojenosti zaměstnanců vybraných institucí.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to determine employee motivational factors in the selected public administration institutions, in particular The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic and The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, also to determine importance of the selected motivational factors and at the same time to find out level of satisfaction with them. The selected motivational factors that the research focuses on are employee development, benefits and work-life balance. The thesis also focuses on finding out whether the chosen institutions are considered to be employers with modern approaches to work and work-life balance was chosen as main representative area for that. The research consists of qualitative and quantitative parts. The qualitative part is partially structured interviews with directors of human recourses in the selected institutions and the quantitative part is carried out by a questionnaire survey distributed throughout the institutions. Results of research in both institutions are compared. Expected outcome value of the thesis is providing of recommendations and corrective actions to be taken in case of insufficiencies based on the findings in order to improve employee motivation and satisfaction. First part of the thesis focuses on theoretical definition of the basic concept - motivation, job satisfaction, determination of the selected motivational factors. The practical part describes the introduces both institutions selected for the research, processes the interviews with their human recourses directors and analyses the questionnaire survey. Finally, there are proposed recommendations for improving the motivation and satisfaction of employees of both selected institutions.
