Depiction of War in Paavo Rintala’s Sissiluutnantti and the following Book War

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá zobrazením a následnou interpretací zimní a pokračovací války odehrávajících se ve Finsku v první polovině 20. století. Shrnula jsem důležitá fakta pokračovací války, a její následnou interpretaci v literatuře. Někteří autoři píšící o pokračovací válce byli vnímání jako kontroverzní a následně pak rozpoutali knižní válku ve Finsku, jejíž příčiny, průběh a důsledky jsem také popsala. V práci jsem nastínila život spisovatele Paava Rintaly a přiblížila okolnosti vzniku jeho válečného románu Sissiluutnantti. Úkolem práce bylo nastínit politicko-kulturní situaci ve finské literatuře, popsat zobrazení války v knize vysvětlit pojem knižní války právě na tomto románu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the depiction and subsequent interpretation of the winter and continuing wars in the mid-20th century in Finland. I summarized the important facts about the continuing war, and its subsequent interpretation in the literature. Some authors writing about this period were perceived as controversial and then they also started a book wars in Finland. I also described what this meaned for society and the authors themselves. In my work, I outlined the life of the writer Paavo Rintala and described the circumstances of the creation of his war novel Sissiluutnantti. The task of the work was to outline the political-cultural situation in Finnish literature, to describe the depiction of war in a book and to explain the concept of book war in this novel.
