Slavoj Žižek: Critic of Liberalism

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této práce je představit kritiku liberalismu Slavoje Žižka, dále se také věnuje rozboru jeho návrhů na nápravu, respektive zrušení tohoto systému. Práce má jak popisný, tak i kritický charakter. Žižkova kritika liberalismu je založena na ideologickém charakteru liberalismu, zkoumá tedy jeho způsoby ovlivňováni a manipulace s jedinci, respektive s celou společností. Vychází přitom z perspektivy politické filosofie, zejména Marxe, Hegela, Descarta a dalších, i z perspektivy psychoanalýzy, především Žižkova velkého vzoru, J. Lacana. Práce představuje jednotlivé Žižkovy pojmy, jejich genezi i použití, jejich roli při kritice současného liberálně-kapitalistického uspořádání. Zároveň zmiňuje filosofem navrhované alternativy a do jisté míry je srovnává s dosud realizovanými pokusy o nápravu uvnitř systému (multikulturalismem a tzv. Třetí cestou). Práce ukazuje, že Žižkovo dílo a konkrétně jeho kritika liberalismu je nesmírně komplexní, ale zároveň (možná i právě proto) často neurčitá či vnitřně protichůdná.

Abstract:

The main aim of this work is to introduce Slavoj Žižek's critic of liberalism, and analyze his suggestions to correct this system, in fact replacing it with a new system. Work has both, descriptive and critical characteristics. Žižek's critic of liberalism is based on ideological character of liberalism. Therefore it examines its ways of influencing and manipulation with people and the society as a whole. Žizek coms from the tradition of political philosophy of K. Marx, F. Hegel, R. Descartes, and others, and also includes perspectives of psychoanalysis, and his great mentor J. Lacan. Work introduces Žižek's concepts, its genesis, its use, and its use in the critic of the current system of liberal capitalism. While introducing alternatives suggested by the philosopher, and comparing them to some extend with already occurred attempts to change the system from inside, meaning multiculturalism, and so-called Third Way. Work shows that Žižek's writing, and especially his critic of liberalism is extremely complex, but also and maybe therefor often inexplicit or antagonistic.
