The role of cultural institutions in fulfilling leisure time people with hearing impairment

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o využití volného času osob se sluchovým postižením, zároveň odhaluje, jaké volnočasové aktivity těmto osobám nabízí vybrané kulturní instituce ve městě Ostrava a jaký postoj tyto instituce k osobám se sluchovým postižením mají. Teoretickou část tvoří tři hlavní kapitoly. První kapitola nabízí vhled do základních informací surdopedie, komunikace neslyšících a kompenzačních pomůcek, které mohou využívat. Druhá kapitola předkládá informace o volném čase, kultuře Neslyšících a také specifické skupině CODA. Poslední kapitola teoretické části se soustředí na komplexní rehabilitaci a socializaci osob se sluchovým postižením a seznamuje s organizacemi pro osoby se sluchovým postižením. V praktické části bude formou dotazníkového šetření a polostrukturovaných rozhovorů přiblížena situace trávení volného času osob se sluchovým postižením a jejich spokojenost s aktuální nabídkou kulturních institucí. Pro plnější vhled seznámí praktická část čtenáře s vybranými kulturními zařízeními města Ostravy a s jejich přístupy k osobám se sluchovým postižením, případně s jejich nabídkami akcí a aktivit pro tyto osoby.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis discusses spending a free time of the people with hearing-impairments. It simultaneously shows which free time activities are offered to these people by chosen cultural institutions in Ostrava city as well as the attitude and stands of these institutions to hearing-impaired people. The theoretical part consists of three main chapters. The first one introduces the basic facts about surdopedy, communication between deaf people and aids which they can use. The second chapter presents information about a free time and the culture of Hearing-impaired people as well as information about specific group CODA. The last chapter of the theoretical part is focused on comprehensive rehabilitation and socialization of such handicapped and also on organizations dedicated to them. In the practical part of this diploma thesis, the matter of spending a free time of hearing-impaired people will be described via questionnaire survey together with semi-structured interviews and also the satisfaction of deaf people with the current offer of cultural institutions will be interpreted. For a comprehensive understanding, some of these cultural institutions situated in Ostrava city and their attitude to hearing-impaired people will be introduced simultaneously with the offer of some cultural events intended for these people.
