Oil, natural gas and their influence on shaping foreign policies - Libya

Abstract:

Autorem předkládaná diplomová práce se soustředí na oblast energetické bezpečnosti. Předmětem zkoumání je toto téma charakterizovat na příkladu Libye. Práce má za cíl prozkoumat charakteristiky libyjského těžebního sektoru a roli, jakou tento sektor sehrál v Kaddáfího režimu a zahraničního zákroku v zemi v roce 2011. Práce se snaží odpovědět, zda-li lze najít v zahraniční reakci na občanskou válku v zemi motivaci libyjskými zdroji nerostných surovin.

Abstract:

This masters thesis is focused on the area of energy security. Its aim is to study and characterize libyan oil and natural gas sector and its role under Gaddafi´s regime and in the military conflict of 2011. Thesis is trying to find out answer to question, if, as an observers, we can find evidence that would claim that response by foreign actors was motivated by libyan natural resources, specifically by oil.
