The thesis examines Michael Cunningham's portrayal of childhood, parenthood, and marriage in A Home at the End of the World, Flesh and Blood, The Hours, and By Nightfall. Since Cunningham captures his characters' thoughts, emotions, and impressions in great detail, the thesis attempts to (psycho)analyze them with the help of Sigmund Freud's findings.
