Factors Affecting Old Age Experience in Homeless Persons

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá faktory ovlivňujícími prožívání stáří u lidí bez domova. Zjišťuje, co seniory bez domova trápí a z čeho mají strach. Zaměřuje se také na nejdůležitější hodnoty v jejich každodenním životě. Teoretická část bakalářské práce zpracovává témata týkající se problematiky bezdomovectví, vymezuje pojem bezdomovectví, popisuje příčiny vzniku a důsledky propadu na ulici. Dále se práce zabývá tématy týkajícími se stáří. Zkoumá fyzické a psychické změny, které s sebou období stáří přináší a mohly by mít vliv na jeho prožívání a popisuje specifika prožívání stáří u lidí bez domova. K dosažení cíle byl zvolen kvalitativní výzkum, realizovaný formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s šesti komunikačními partnery. Po provedení rozhovorů došlo k jejich zpracování a analýze pomocí barvení textu a kódování.

Abstract:

The Bachelor’s thesis focuses on the factors affecting how the homeless people experience the ageing. The thesis finds out what bothers the homeless elderly people and what are they afraid of. It also refers to the most important values in their day-to-day lives. The theoretical part processes the themes related to the issue of homelessness, defines the homelessness term, describes the origin causes and consequences of living in the streets. Further it also deals with the themes related to ageing. It explores the physical and mental changes that are brought together with the ageing and could affect its experience. It describes the specifics of the ageing of the homeless people. To attain this target the qualitative research was chosen. The research was realized by the polo-structured interviews with six communication partners. The interviews were processed and analyzed using the text highlighting and coding techniques.
