The US Economic Policy Participation in the Current Economic Crisis

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce, „Podíl Hospodářské politiky USA na současné ekonomické krizi“, je analýza podílu monetární politiky na vyvolání distorzí na trhu s hypotéčními úvěry. Cíl práce vyžaduje rozebrání i ostatních pravděpodobných faktorů, stojících v pozadí krize, protože pomáhají odhalit, jak významnou nebo nevýznamnou roli hrálo nastavení monetární politiky v nafukování hypotéční bubliny v období 2000-2006. Tento záměr je reflektován strukturou práce, která je rozdělená do tří samostatných kapitol. První kapitola je věnována sekuritizaci, v níž je analyzován celý její proces, s důrazem na roli morálního hazardu, který jej prostupoval. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na analýzu dopadu státních zásahů na trh s hypotéčními úvěry. Poslední kapitola se nakonec zabývá posuzováním vhodnosti nastavení kurzu monetární politiky v časovém období mezi lety 2000 a 2006 s důrazem na kritické období v letech 2003-2004.

Abstract:

The purpose of the submitted thesis “The US Economic Policy Participation in the Current Economic Crisis” is an analysis of the share of the US monetary policy in the initiation of the mortgage market distortion. In order to reveal the significance or insignificance of the influence of the monetary policy setting on the growth of a mortgage market bubble in the period 2000-2006, it is crucial to consider other factors contributing to the crisis as well. This intention is reflected in the structure of the work, which is divided into three separate chapters. The first chapter is devoted to a securitization, in which the whole process with the emphasis on the role of the moral hazard pervading it is reflected upon. The second chapter is focused on the analysis of the impact of state interventions into the mortgage market. The last chapter finally deals with the assessment of the suitability of the monetary policy chosen in the time frame between 2000 and 2006 with an emphasis on the critical period 2003-2004.
