Celtic culture in Roman world and aspects of its development

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá obrazem Keltů na základě záznamů v dobových dílech. Dále popisuje vývoj percepce Keltů a keltské kultury v průběhu historie až do dnešní doby. S tím souvisí role irských mnichů na přelomu starověku a středověku v rámci zaznamenávání dědictví, stejně jako Artušovské legendy a vize rytíře v období středověku. S příchodem novověku se probudil opětovný zájem o keltské dědictví a znovuobjevování jejich světa. A konečně v moderní době dochází v několika směrech k pokusům o oživení této kultury, ať už to je v rámci hudby, životního stylu nebo náboženského života.

Abstract:

This bachelor work works with picture of Celts based on the view of the ancient authors. It describes the devolepment in perception of Celts and their culture throughout history to the present day. Related topic is the role of irish monks at the turn of the antiquity and the Middle Ages in the manner of keeping celtic heritage, Arthur's legends and vision of knight in the time of Middle Ages. With New Age there comes the new interest in celtic heritage and in rediscovering their world. And finally in the Modern Age in there are attempts in several wals to bring back the celtic culture, for example in music, lifestyle or in religion.
