Existential Themes of Weakness and Strength in Selected Works by Vladimír Körner and Jaroslav Durych

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá existenciálními motivy slabosti a síly ve vybraných dílech spisovatelů Vladimíra Körnera a Jaroslava Durycha. Zaměřuje se především na Körnerovu prózu Zánik samoty Berhof (1973) a novelu Boží duha (1969) Jaroslava Durycha, které nespojuje pouze doba publikace, ale také tematika. Motivy slabosti a síly, jež se v těchto dílech objevují, jsou vymezeny a podrobně prozkoumány. Hlavním záměrem této práce je reflexe zmíněných motivů, analýza a srovnání autorských přístupů k nim.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with existential motifs of weakness and strength in selected works by Vladimír Körner and Jaroslav Durych. This thesis focuses mainly on Körner's prose Zánik samoty Berhof (1973) and Jaroslav Durych's novel Boží duha (1969), which are not only connected by the time of publication but also by their themes. The motifs of weakness and strength that emerge in these works are defined and explored in detail. The main purpose of this thesis is to reflect on these mentioned motifs, analyse and compare the authorial approaches to them.
