This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of patient awareness concerning thromboembolic disease prevention before surgery. It presents the current found knowledge on the anatomy of general angiology, on the characteristics of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, causes, clinical picture, diagnostics, treatment, and prevention.
