Teachers’ awareness of the school psychologist’s work and their opinions on their work at school

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské diplomové práce bylo zmapování oblasti informovanosti a názorů společně se zkušenostmi učitelů v souvislosti s působením školního psychologa na různých typech škol. Výzkum byl proveden pomocí dotazníku vlastní konstrukce a výzkumný soubor tvořilo 195 respondentů z celé České republiky. Bylo zjištěno, že učitelé jsou poměrně dobře informováni, a to primárně o službách pro žáky a třídy. Jejich znalosti ale klesají u služeb pro pedagogy a rodiče, což prostupovalo i dalšími výsledky. Například bylo zjištěno, že jsou to právě služby pro žáky a třídy, které učitelé využívají nejvíce a také je hodnotí nejpozitivněji. Při zkoumání rozdílů mezi jednotlivými skupinami učitelů bylo zjištěno, že nejvíce odlišnou skupinu tvoří střední odborná učiliště, která nekorespondovala s celkovými výsledky v žádné oblasti. Byla také nalezena statisticky významná spojitost mezi informovaností učitelů a jejich přímou zkušeností se školním psychologem. Výsledky tedy ukazují hned několik důležitých témat, se kterými by bylo vhodné do budoucna pracovat, a zároveň přispívají ke zvýšení povědomí o této problematice v rámci České republiky.

Abstract:

This thesis aims to map the area of awareness and opinions along with the experience of teachers regarding the role of school psychologists in schools. The research was conducted with the use of a self-constructed questionnaire, with the research sample consisting of 195 teachers from the Czech Republic. It was found that teachers are quite well informed about the services of school psychologists for individual students and classes. However, their knowledge decreases regarding services for teachers and parents. This result is reflected in most of the following findings. For example, it was found that services for students and classes are the most used ones as well as the ones most positively rated. When examining differences between different groups of teachers, it was found that the most distinct group are teachers from vocational schools, as their results do not correspond with the overall results. Also, a statistically significant correlation was found between the teachers’ experience and their awareness. The results show quite a lot of important topics, that would benefit from further attention, and contribute to the increase of awareness in these areas in the Czech Republic.
