Perception of climate change by students at high schools of the Jihomoravský and Moravskoslezský regions

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vnímáním tématu klimatické změny žáky Jihomoravského a Moravskoslezského kraje ve vzdělávání i v osobní rovině. V rešeršní části je představen přehled publikací potvrzující současný průběh změny klimatu a zhodnoceno postavení změny klimatu ve vzdělání a v rámcových vzdělávacích programech. Před praktickou částí jsou krátce popsány oba studované kraje s důrazem na dopady současné změny klimatu. Cílem práce je na základě dotazníkového šetření zhodnotit dosavadní výuku změny klimatu, postoje žáků k současné změně klimatu, jejím dopadům a ochotě žáků podílet se na adaptaci a mitigaci současných i budoucích projevů změny klimatu. Žáci nejsou dle výsledků dotazníkového šetření s časem, který je ve škole pro toto téma věnován, spokojeni. Na důsledky současné změny klimatu se většina z nich adaptuje a většina je také ochotna učinit mitigační opatření pro zmírnění dopadů způsobenými změnou klimatu. Tyto výsledky jsou následně diskutovány se studiemi podobného charakteru, které byly na toto téma vytvořeny.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the perception of the topic of climate change by students of the South Moravian and Moravian-Silesian regions in education and on a personal level. In the review part, an overview of publications confirming the current course of climate change is presented, and the position of climate change in education and the framework of educational programmes is evaluated. Prior to the practical part, a brief description of the two study regions is given with an emphasis on the impacts of current climate change. The aim of the thesis is to assess, through a questionnaire survey, the current teaching of climate change, students' attitudes towards recent climate change, its impacts and students' willingness to participate in adaptation and mitigation measures of current and future climate change impacts. According to the questionnaire survey results, students are not satisfied with the time dedicated to this topic in school. Most of them are adapting to the impacts of recent climate change and are also willing to take mitigation measures to reduce the impacts caused by climate change. These results are subsequently discussed with studies of a similar nature that have been published on this topic.
