The quality of the voice after surgery of the benign lesion in the larynx area

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o kvalitě hlasu u pacientů, kteří jsou po operaci benigních lézí v oblasti hrtanu. Obsahuje teoretickou a výzkumnou část. Část teoretická je rozdělena do čtyř částí, které se zaměřují na samotný hrtan (anatomie, funkce hrtanu), vyšetřovací metody, benigní léze hrtanu a na hlas jako takový (jeho kvalita, poruchy, hlasová hygiena). Část výzkumná byla zpracována za pomocí dotazníkového šetření VHI (Voice Handicap index), které probíhalo v Pardubické krajské nemocnici. Cílem této části bylo posoudit samotnou kvalitu hlasu a jak ji vnímají sami pacienti.

Abstract:

This dissertation thesis deals with the quality of the voice in patients who had undergone a surgery of a benign laryngeal lesion. The whole thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is divided into four sections aimed on the larynx itself (anatomy, physiology), on examination of the larynx, on benign laryngeal lesions and on the voice in itself (its quality and disorders, and vocal hygiene). The research part presents the findings of the VHI (Voice Handicap Index) questionnaire survey held in the Pardubice Region Hospital. The objective of this part was to assess the quality of the voice in foregoing patients and the patients´ perception of it.
