Illegal drug trade in the USA: Colombia and Mexico

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zahraniční politikou Spojených států amerických se zaměřením na boj proti nelegálnímu drogovému obchodu mezi USA, Mexikem a Kolumbií. V první části je obecně charakterizována šedá ekonomika USA, následují obecné informace nejen o obchodu s drogami v Mexiku a Kolumbii.Jsou zde detailně rozebrány drogové kartely působící na území obou zemí. Důležitou součástí práce je analýza spolupráce Spojených států amerických v obou zemích za účelem vyřešení drogového problému. Druhá část práce je věnována především komparaci případu Mexika a Kolumbie, jejich společné a odlišné znaky v oblasti drogového průmyslu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with foreign policy of the United States of America, especially with the fight against illegal drug trafficking between the USA, Mexico and Colombia. In the first part shadow economy of the USA is described, then the general information not only about drug trafficking in Mexico and Colombia is covered. Drug cartels operating in both countries are examined. An important part of the thesis is the analysis of the colaboration between the USA and both countries with the aim to solving the drug problem. The second part focuses on comparison of Mexico and Colombia, their similarities and differences in the drug trafficking area.
