New job or first job after parental leave in the women's perspective

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá tématem prvního nebo nového zaměstnání žen po rodičovské dovolené. Cílem práce je pokusit se zodpovědět hlavní výzkumnou otázku: „Jaké specifické faktory mají vliv na rozhodování žen, které po mateřské nebo rodičovské dovolené vstupují na trh práce poprvé, resp. hledají nové zaměstnání, s jakými specifickými problémy se při tomto kroku potýkají?“ Práce představuje hlavní teoretická východiska a nosné teoretické koncepty a faktory, ovlivňující návrat/vstup žen na trh práce. Empirická část interpretuje výsledky výzkumu, který byl proveden za použití kvalitativní metody, techniky polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Rozhovoru se zúčastnily ženy, které po rodičovské dovolené budou hledat nové, nebo své první zaměstnání. Snažila jsem se zjistit vliv systémových a individuálních faktorů, tj. jejich očekávání ve směru k trhu práce, potenciálním zaměstnavatelům, opatřením politik státu, pod současným vlivem osobních preferencí a genderových stereotypů na rozhodování žen o návratu/vstupu na trh práce. V závěrečné diskusi jsou shrnuta hlavní zjištění výzkumu.

Abstract:

The present Master's thesis focuses on the topic of first or new employment of women after the parental leave. The aim is to try to answer the main research question:” Which specific factors influence the women´s decisions after the paternal leave, who enter the labour market for the first time or are looking for the new job, with which specific factors they face to? The thesis introduces main theoretical bases and relevant theoretical concepts and factors which influence the return or entry of women to the labour market. The empirical part interprets the findings of the research which was based on the qualitative research method and half-structured interview. On the interview took part women who are going to look for their new or first job after their parental leave. I tried to find out the influence to the women´s decisions concerning their return/entry to the labour market, of the system- and individual factors, i.e. their expectations of the labour market, the potential employers, measures of the state politics, under the influence of their personal preferences and gender stereotypes. The final discussion includes a summary of the main research findings.
