Abstract:

Agregátní virtuální ekonomika je soubor virtuálních statků obíhajících v kyberprostoru. Virtuální statky vznikly v prostředí videoher a postupně se rozšířily o produkty jako jsou virtuální měny typu Bitcoin nebo virtuální služby. Jelikož neustále dochází k vývoji virtuální ekonomiky, není snadné studovat a kvantifikovat její efekty. Výzkum se zaměřuje především na ty prvky virtuální ekonomiky, které umožní studovat tentofenomén na agregátní úrovni. Zabývá se rovněž srovnáním virtuální ekonomiky a reálné, hmatatelné, ekonomiky. Významná část srovnání se zabývá zločiny a jejich odrazy v digitálním světě. Jmenovitě jde o černý trh, hazard a další kontroverzní témata, která jsou diskutována v souvislosti s virtuálními statky a službami a která zasahují rovněž do reálné ekonomiky. To poukazuje na negativné dopady virtuální ekonomiky na lidské životy. Diskutováno je tedy také téma regulace kyberprostoru a jeho centralizace, které by mohly pomoci omezit nezákonné aktivity a nabídnout praktické řešení. Práce se dále pokouší formulovat vhodné makroekonomické indikátory pro agregátní virtuální ekonomiku. To by mělo pomoci kvantifikovat význam virtuální ekonomiky v širších souvislostech.Základní výzkumná otázka zní: Jaké dopady má virtuální ekonomika na lidský život a především na ekonomiku jako celek?

Abstract:

The aggregate virtual economy is a collection of virtual goods that circulate in cyberspace. These virtual goods first started off as video games and eventually evolved to encompass products such as virtual currencies like Bitcoins and virtual services. The constant evolution of the virtual economy makes it a difficult task to quantify and study its respective impacts. This research will mainly focus on the components of the virtual economy and their respective impacts. It will also compare similarities and differences between the virtual economy and the tangible economy. A significant part of the comparison will deal with crimes and their virtual counterparts like black markets, gambling, and many more controversies which are an ongoing issue facing virtual goods and services, which in turn affect both economies and the real world. This will show the ramifications that the virtual economy on the real economy and the live of people. The topics of cyber regulation and the centralization theory in virtual space will also be discussed to help tie in the many illicit activities happening in cyberspace to a practical solution. In addition, there will be an endeavor to formulate proper macro indicators for the aggregate virtual economy to help quantify the impact that the virtual economy has and paint a clearer picture on how the virtual economy functions in the grand scheme of things. Also, there will be an attempt to start a project which takes place in the business sector of the virtual economy to understand how it holds up with other major sector, the entertainment sector. This will also be shown through an indicator called the synergy effect which will be discussed in more details later on. Finally, all of this will be done to answer the question: what are the impacts of the virtual economy on the lives of people and more importantly, the world economy as a whole?
