Táto práca sa zaoberá bakteriálnym lektínom RS-20L z Ralstonia solanacearum, fytopatogénu, ktorý je zodpovedný za niektoré rastlinné choroby. V priebehu prípravy rekombinantného proteínu a pokusov o jeho funkčnú charakterizáciu bolo zaznamenaných niekoľko prípadov veľmi záhadného správania - extrémne vysoká stabilita trimérnej formy, nevratná strata väzbových vlastností po purifikácii.
