Events of the Danish War (1625-1629) in the historiography of the 17th century

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o událostech tzv. Dánské války v historiografii 17. století. Dánská válka byla jednou z fází Třicetileté války - válečného konfliktu, který v letech 1618 až 1648 zachvátil prakticky celou Evropu, včetně českých zemí. Cílem této práce je posoudit, jak byla tato válka vnímána českou a zahraniční dobovou literaturou. Práce sestává ze šesti kapitol. V prvních dvou je stručně představen průběh konfliktu a dění v Evropě a v samotných českých zemí. Třetí kapitola je o zástupcích a problematice evropské a tuzemské historiografie. Čtvrtá a pátá kapitola jsou o dvou hlavních historiografických pramenech pro mé téma: Theatrum Europaeum a Prodromus Moravographiae. A šestá kapitola se pak týká analýzy týchž událostí v obou těchto dílech.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the events of the so-called Danish War in 17th century historiography. The Danish War was one of the phases of the Thirty Year's War - a war conflict that between 1618 and 1648 captured virtually all of Europe, including the Czech lands. The aim of this thesis is so assess how this war was perceived by Czech and foreign contemporaly literature. The thesis consists of six chapters. The first two briefly introduce the course of conflict and events in Europe and in the Czech lands themselves. The third chapter is about representatives and problems of European and domestic historiography. The fourth and fifth chapters are about two main historical sources of the time: Theatrum Europaeum and Prodromus Moravographiae. And the sixth chapter then deals with the analysis of the same events in both these works.
