The role of a social worker in diagnostic institute

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce na téma „Role sociálního pracovníka v diagnostickém ústavu“ se zabývá postojem sociálních pracovníků k jejich roli v diagnostických ústavech. V teoretické části je vymezen pojem sociální pracovník, se zaměřením na jeho kompetence, osobnostní předpoklady a role. Dále je vysvětlen legislativní rámec diagnostických ústavů, charakteristika těchto zařízení, jejich funkce, personální zajištění i příčiny umístění klientely. Teorii uzavírá kapitola o postoji. Druhá část je věnována metodologii výzkumu a ve třetí části jsou interpretovány výsledky šetření. Cílem této práce je odpovědět na hlavní výzkumnou otázku: „Jaký mají sociální pracovníci z dětského diagnostického ústavu a diagnostického ústavu pro mládež postoj ke své roli v zařízení?“ Tato otázka je doplněna o tři dílčí výzkumné otázky zaměřené na kognitivní, afektivní a konativní složku postoje informantů. Polostrukturované rozhovory s vybranými sociálními pracovníky přinesli zjištění o tom, jaký mají pohled na svoji roli v zařízení, s jakou problematikou se setkávají a jaké jsou jejich názory na fungování diagnostických ústavů. Na základě výsledků výzkumného šetření jsou v příloze práce navrhnuta určitá doporučení pro praxi, která mohou sloužit i jako východiska úvah pro všechny, kteří se o tuto oblast sociální práce zajímají.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis „The role of a social worker in diagnostic institute“ focuses on the attitude of social workers about their role in diagnostic institutes. The theoretical part defines the concept of a social worker, focusing on his skills, personal attributes and possible roles. There are also explained the legislative framework of diagnostic insititute, characteristics of this institution, its functions, staff and causes of placement of its clients. Theoretical part is closed with a chapter about the attitude. The second part is devoted to the methodology of the research and the third part interprets the results of the investigation. The aim of this work is to answer the elementary research question: „What is the attitude of social workers about their role in children’s diagnostic institutes or diagnostic institutes for youth?“ This question is accompanied by three sub-questions focusing on the cognitive, affective and conative components of the respondent’s attitude. Interviews with selected social workers has brought findings about how they see their role in diagnostic institutes, what are the main problems they have to face and what is their opinion about the work of diagnostic facilities. Based on the revealed results, in the thesis attachments there are presented some recommendations for practice that can also serve as a starting point for thoughts of all who are interested in this field of social work.
