Sexuality in the Works of Czech Decadent Movement and the Issues of Its Interpretation in Secondary School Literature Teaching

Abstract:

Diplomová práce přináší vhled do problematiky sexuálně laděných motivů v české dekadentní poezii a porovnává jejich přijetí společností v průběhu času a s ohledem na momentální umělecký směr či módní vlnu. Teoretická část se zaměřuje především na díla vybraných českých dekadentních básníků z přelomu 19. a 20. století a pro srovnání zároveň nabízí analýzu tvorby vybraných neodekadentů ze současné české literatury, přičemž zohledňuje kontext doby a z něj plynoucí ohlasy. Praktická část mapuje situaci ohledně výuky dekadentní poezie na středních školách, zjišťuje postoj učitelů k této látce a porovnává zakotvení v rámcovém vzdělávacím programu MŠMT, zastoupení ve školních vzdělávacích programech (včetně průřezových témat) a zastoupení v katalogu požadavků k maturitě s reálnou situací, tedy s praktickým využitím látky ve výuce předmětů zabývajících se literaturou a ostatními druhy umění. Zároveň přináší praktická část zamyšlení nad případným mezioborovým využitím tohoto druhu poezie a reflektuje zkušenost pedagogů s probíranou látkou i reakcemi studentů. Přílohou k diplomové práci je kromě dotazníku využitého praktické části také rozhovor s českým současným neodekadentním básníkem Kamilem Princem.

Abstract:

The thesis provides insight into the issue of sexually-oriented motifs in Czech decadent poetry and compares their reception by society over time and with respect to the current artistic trend or fashion wave. The theoretical part focuses mainly on the works of selected Czech decadent poets from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and for comparison offers an analysis of the works of selected neo-decadents from contemporary Czech literature, taking into account the context of the time and the resulting responses. The practical part maps the situation regarding the teaching of decadent poetry in secondary schools, ascertains the attitude of teachers towards this substance and compares its embedding in the framework educational programme of the Ministry of Schooling, Youth and Sport, its representation in school educational programmes (including cross-cutting themes) and its representation in the catalogue of requirements for the matriculation examination with the real situation, i.e. with the practical use of the substance in the teaching of subjects dealing with literature and other types of art. At the same time, the practical part reflects on the possible interdisciplinary use of this type of poetry and reflects on the experience of teachers with the discussed material and the reactions of students. In addition to the questionnaire used in the practical part, the thesis also includes an interview with the Czech contemporary neo-decadent poet Kamil Princ.
