Mining Museum Příbram in the Context of Cultural Life of the City, Tourism and Identity of Institution

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá Hornickým muzeem Příbram, největším hornickým muzeem v České republice se stabilní pozicí na trhu, z hlediska jeho kulturního významu ve vazbě na kulturní život města a cestovní ruch. Činí tak ve dvou plánech, které se vzájemně rozvíjejí a doplňují: první rovinou je zasazení muzea do místních kontextů, identifikace jím uchovávaných a předávaných kulturních hodnot a představení jeho dosavadního směřování; druhou rovinou je analytický pohled na vnější a vnitřní prostředí muzea, jehož záměrem je vytipovat oblasti s potenciálem rozvoje a následně nastínit konkrétní možnosti inovace. Cílem práce je na základě zjištěných poznatků vytvořit podklady pro strategické plánování muzea, které by mohly být impulzem k systematické práci na eliminaci nalezených problémů a dalším krokem instituce na cestě k moderní muzejní praxi a progresivnímu přístupu k zákazníkům.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis deals with the Mining Museum Příbram. It is the largest mining museum in the Czech Republic with a stable position on the market. This thesis deals with its cultural significance in relation to the city's cultural life and tourism. It does so in two plans. Both plans are complementary; they are developing each other through their connections. The first line sets the museum to the local situation, identifies its important cultural values in general and introduces the current direction of the museum. The second line creates an analytical view of the external and internal environment of the museum. This specific view is going to identify areas with a potential for further development and subsequently it is going to outline concrete possibilities for innovations. The aim of the diploma thesis is to create a basis for strategic planning of the museum. This theoretical basis could be the trigger for the systematic work aiming at the elimination of the discovered problems. Furthermore, it could be the next step towards the new modern concept of museum and progressive approach to customers.
