Initial public offering on the foreign market

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je za pomoci zvolených statistických metod analyzovat a vyhodnotit vybrané faktory ovlivňující rozhodování společností o provedení veřejné nabídky akcií na zahraničním trhu. V první teoretické části textu je blíže popsán pojem primární veřejné nabídky akcií (IPO), na který navazuje polemika nad důvody jejího provedení v zahraničí (zahraniční IPO). Ve druhé praktické části je při tvorbě datového vzorku navázáno na dosavadní poznatky z odborné literatury a dochází k podrobnému představení vybraných faktorů ovlivňujících zahraniční IPO, a to vč. charakteristik jednotlivých společností rozhodujících se nad provedením IPO, států jejich sídla a světových burzovních domů dostupných ze sestaveného datového vzorku. Datový vzorek je následně podroben logistické regresní metodě analýzy. Závěrem jsou výsledky práce zhodnoceny.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to analyse and evaluate selected factors influencing the decision of companies to make an initial public offering on the foreign market using selected statistical methods. In the first theoretical part of the text, the concept of initial public offering (IPO) is described in detail, followed by a discussion of the reasons for its implementation abroad (a foreign IPO). The second practical part builds on the existing literature in constructing the data sample and provides a detailed presentation of selected factors influencing foreign IPOs, including the characteristics of individual companies deciding to conduct an IPO, their countries of domicile and the global stock exchange houses available from the data sample. The data sample is then subjected to logistic regression analysis. In conclusion, the results of the thesis are evaluated.
