Using animal assisted therapy in physiotherapy

Abstract:

Cíl: Hlavním cílem mé bakalářské práce je přispět k řešení volby optimálních fyzioterapeutických postupů, konceptů a metod v propojení s využitím canisterapie u geriatrického klienta, klienta po CMP a adolescenta s vadnou posturou těla. Pomocí canisterapie budu motivovat klienty ke spolupráci při fyzioterapii. Metodika: Zpracovala jsem kazuistiku u geriatrického klienta, klienta po CMP a adolescenta s vadnou posturou těla a poté jsem každému klientovi navrhla rehabilitační plán. U geriatrického klienta jsem využila tyto koncepty: míčková facilitace, izometrické cvičení proti gravitaci a proti odporu, Brüggerův koncept, PNF, aktivní a pasivní pohyb, senzomotorická stimulace a postizometrická relaxace, aktivity za asistence psa. U klienta po CMP jsem využila tyto koncepty: míčková facilitace, aktivní a pasivní pohyb, PNF, respirační fyzioterapii, postizometrickou relaxaci, postfacilitační strečink, Brüggerův koncept a senzomotorická stimulace, aktivity za asistence psa, terapie za asistence psa. U adolescenta s vadnou posturou těla jsem využila tyto koncepty: míčková facilitace, respirační fyzioterapie, PNF, Klappovo lezení, Brüggerův koncept, techniky měkkých tkání, mobilizace dle Lewitta, izometrická cvičení proti odporu, kineziotaping a SM systém, aktivity za asistence psa, terapie za asistence psa. Výsledky: Na základě výstupního vyšetření jsem u každého klienta zaznamenala několik zlepšení. U geriatrického klienta došlo ke zlepšení svalové síly, rozsahy pohybu se zvětšily, zlepšila se soustředěnost klienta i jeho jemná motorika. Rovnováha se zlepšila a po chůzi se klient cítí méně unaven. U klienta po CMP došlo ke zlepšení aktivních rozsahů pohybu, svalové síly, jemné motoriky, koordinace pohybů, komunikace, dýchání i chůze. U adolescentního klienta se pravidelným cvičením odstranila bolest zad a kolen.

Abstract:

Objective: The aim of my thesis is to solve the choice the optimal physiotherapeutic procedures, concepts and methods in connection using animal assisted therapy for geriatric client, client after cerebral stroke and adolescent with faulty body posture. With using animal assisted therapy I will motivate clients to work. Methodology: In my work I utilized the casuistry of geriatric client, client after cerebral stroke and adolescent with faulty body posture and then I proposed rehabilitation plan for every client. For geriatric client I used these concepts: facilitation with foam ball, isometric exercise, Brügger´s concept, PNF, active and passive motions, sensomotoric stimulation, post-isometric relaxation and animal asissted activity. For client after cerebral stroke I used these concepts: facilitation with foam ball, PNF, active and passive motions, respiratory rehabilitation, post-isometric relaxation, Brügger´s concept, sensomotoric stimulation and animal asissted therapy and activity. For adolescent with faulty body posture I used these concepts: with foam ball, respiratory rehabilitation , PNF, Klapp´s climbing, Brugger´s concept, soft tissue techniques, mobilization by Lewitt, izometric exercise, kineziotaping, SM system and animal assisted therapy and activity. Results: Based on the final examination, I noticed some improvements at every client. Geriatric client improved his muscle strenght, range of movement increased, improved his concentration and his fine motor skills. The balance has improved and client after walking feels less tired. Client after cerebral stroke improved active range of movement, muscle strenght, fine motor skills, movement coordination, communication, breathing and walking. Adolescent client eliminated back pain and knee pain with regular exercise.
