Reflections on the tragedy in fine arts

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the ways of depicting the tragic and tragedy based on literature, showing thus the interrelation of fine arts (painting and sculpture) and literature as well as gradual distinguishing and autonomy (self-determination ?) of tragic delineations of fine arts. This narrative way of depicting the tragedy in literature and art describes the most important stages, changes and characters somewhat affecting or changing the style of delineating the tragedy. The very structure results from the traditional structure of tragedies, hereby leading a reader from a descriptive introduction, through entanglement up to climax and dénouement. The thesis is written in a form of reflections on fine arts, attempting to encourage the contemplation and broader artistic and literary imagination in readers.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca pojednáva o spôsoboch zobrazovania tragickosti a tragédie vychádzajúcej z literárnych predlôh. Mapuje tak vzťah výtvarného umenia a literatúry a postupné oddeľovanie a zautonómňovanie tragických stvárnení výtvarného umenia. Táto narácia stvárňovania tragédie v literatúre a umení tak prináša opis zásadných období, zmien a postáv, ktoré nejakým spôsobom ovplyvnili, či zmenili štýl zobrazovania tragédie. Samotná štruktúra práce vychádza z tradičnej štruktúry tragických hier, a tak vedie čitateľa od opisného úvodu, skrz zauzlenie až k samotnému vrcholu a k rozuzleniu. Práca je písaná formou úvah nad výtvarnými dielami, snažiacimi sa podnietiť kontempláciu a širšiu výtvarno-literárnu predstavivosť u čitateľov.
