Photochemical catalyzed polymerisation and sol-gel condensation

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se zabývá hybridními materiály, které lze polymerovat dvěma různými způsoby. Na jedné straně dochází k sol-gel kondenzaci, kdy se vazby Si-O-C mění na Si-O-Si. Na druhé straně může působením fotoiniciátoru a světla probíhat radikálová fotoiniciovaná polymerace. Cílem práce byla separace těchto dvou procesů. Sol-gel kondenzace probíhala relativně snadno a ve vzdušném prostředí samovolně, zatímco fotoiniciované polymerace bylo poměrně obtížné dosáhnout a provádět ji, aniž by sol-gel proces neprobíhal současně. Z tohoto důvodu bylo nutné se v experimentech zaměřit na fotoiniciovanou polymeraci a její separaci od sol-gel procesu.

Abstract:

The presented thesis deals with hybrid materials, which are possible to polymerize in two different ways. In one way sol-gel condensation occurs, when Si-O-C bonds are changed to Si-O-Si bonds. In the second way, upon exposure of a photoinitiator to light it is possible to initiate a radical photoinitiated polymerization. The aim of this thesis was to achieve these two processes separately. Through condensation the sol-gel process occurs relatively easily and spontaneously in atmospheric air. On the other hand, to achieve the photoinitiated polymerization separately was quite difficult, especially to prevent undesirable spontaneous sol-gel condensation. For this reason focus on photoinitiated polymerization and its separation from sol-gel process was necessary.
