Occupational therapy for children with multiple disabilities

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se zabývám důležitou oblastí ergoterapeutické intervence s využitím konceptu Bazální stimulace a využitím metody Snoezelen. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na problematiku kombinovaného postižení, kde popisuji pojem této problematiky a příčiny. Dále vysvětluji pojem ergoterapie a různé metody uplatněné v ergoterapii u dětí. Jelikož má práce je zaměřena nejvíce na ergoterapii s využitím prvků bazální stimulace a Snoezelenu, popisuji v samostatné kapitole právě koncept Bazální stimulace, vznik tohoto konceptu, jednotlivé prvky a užití v praxi. Na závěr teoretické části popisuji metodu Snoezelen a její uvedení do praxe. V praktické části uvádím kazuistiku klientky s kombinovaným postižením, kde hodnotím její stav vstupním ergoterapeutickým vyšetřením. Poté stanovuji dlouhodobý ergoterapeutický plán, včetně zhodnocení terapie a stavu klientky po ergoterapeutické intervenci. V závěru uvádím zhodnocení výsledků, kterých klientka dosáhla.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis I deal with important area of the occupational therapy with the use of Basal stimulation concept and Snoezelen method. The theoretical part of my work is focused on combined handicap, which describes the concept of this problematics and its causes. Further I explain the concept of occupational therapy and various methods used in case of occupational therapy of children. As my work is mostly focused on occupational therapy with use of elements of Basal stimulation and Snoezelen method, in separate chapter I do describe just the concept of Basal stimulation, its creation, individual elements and putting it into practice. The conclusion of the theoretical part describes the Snoezelen method and putting it into practice. In the practical part I present case study of client with combined disability, where I evaluate her status by entry occupational therapy examination. Then I determine long-term occupational therapy plan, including the evaluation of therapy and client status after occupational therapy intervention. In the conclusion I state the evaluation of results which client has achieved.
