Cultural differences in the management of hotel operations management

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je věnována tématu kulturní rozdíly managementu v řízení hotelového provozu. Téma interkulturního managementu je velmi aktuální, protože znázorňuje odlišné postoje manažerů různých národností k managementu. Cílem této bakalářské práce je kvantifikovat hlavní kulturní rozdíly a shody v řízení hotelů v Ruské federaci a České republice na příkladu dvou hotelových zařízení. Aby bylo možné kvantifikovat a kvalifikovat tyto shody a rozdíly, je nutné především vybrat hotely, které jsou si podobné podle následujících kritérií: velikost, počet pokojů, standardy a rozsah poskytovaných služeb, počet zaměstnanců. V teoretické části práce byly vymezeny předpoklady a poznatky bezprostředně se vztahující k oblasti řízení a interkulturních rozdílů. V praktické části je nejdříve provedená obecná charakteristika kulturních dimenzí podle teorie G. Hofstedeho v Rusku a České republice. Jsou představeny rozdíly podle pěti vybraných kulturních dimenzí.

Abstract:

This thesis is devoted to the cultural differences in the management of hotel operations management. The theme of intercultural management is very timely because it shows the different attitudes of managers of different nationalities to management. The aim of this work is to quantify the major cultural differences and compliance in the management of hotels in Russia and the Czech Republic on the example of two hotel facilities. In order to quantify and qualify these similarities and differences, it is necessary first of all to choose hotels that are similar according to the following criteria: size, number of rooms, standard and range of services provided, the number of employees. The theoretical part of the study focuses on the assumptions and findings directly related to the management and intercultural differences. In the practical part there is a general characteristic of cultural dimensions by G. Hofstede in Russia and the Czech Republic. They present differences according to the five selected cultural dimensions.
