Use of virtual musical instruments for artistic activities in institutions in the city of Brno

Abstract:

Téma Bakalářské práce se zaměřuje na využívání virtuálních hudebních nástrojů pro uměleckou činnost v kreativních institucích v městě Brně. Má za cíl vyzkoumat, jaké je konkrétní využití těchto nástrojů v dnešním kreativním průmyslu, zda nahrazují nástroje živé či dochází k jejich kombinaci. Na druhou stranu cílem práce není popsat technickou stránku virtuálních hudebních nástrojů ani jejich důkladný popis. Práce se snaží vyzkoumat, jak probíhá samotná produkce pomocí virtuálních hudebních nástrojů a co je k virtuální produkci potřeba vlastnit. Opírá se o výzkum, který má posloužit jako pilotní výzkum šetření, jež může nabídnout základní přehled o této problematice. Výsledný text nabízí shrnutí informací o využívání virtuálních hudebních nástrojů a doporučení, která mohou být využita při dalších výzkumech zaměřujících se na tuto oblast.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the use of virtual musical instruments for the purpose of the artistic activity in the creative institutions in the city of Brno. The aim of the thesis is to discover what the particular use of these instruments is in the contemporary creative industry. The thesis also focuses on the question whether real instruments are replaced by virtual instruments or if these two types of instruments are used combined. The thesis does not focus on the description of the technical side of virtual musical instruments or on their thoroughgoing description. The focus is put on the research of the production made by virtual musical instruments, how it is created and what is necessary to have to make the production real. The thesis is based on the research which should serve as a pilot research for the survey that can offer a basic overview about the issues. The final text offers the summary of information about the use of virtual musical instruments and further suggestions which can be used in another research of the topic.
