Trends and inovations in psychology - an international and intercultural comparative analysis

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je věnována studiu současných psychoterapeutických trendů ve světě a jejich vlastnostem. Jedná se o komparativní studii, která analyzuje způsoby, jakými je ve světě psychoterapie rozšiřována, modifikována a praktikována. Metodou literární rešerše a studia odborných psychoterapeutických článků tato bakalářská práce poskytla analýzu a komparaci světových psychoterapeutických trendů, na jejichž čele stojí americký diskurz praxe založené na důkazech (tzv. "evidence-based practice") (Roysircar & Hodges, 2012). Americká psychoterapie má určující vliv na směřování globálních trendů a popularizaci jednotlivých psychoterapií ve světě. Globální psychoterapie vedená převážně USA proniká do všech koutů světa bez ohledu na sociální, politická, kulturní, rasová a jiná geografická specifika (Birashk, 2012). Potřeba doručování účinné psychoterapeutické pomoci má svoji specifickou dynamiku, ve které geografické faktory určují, jakým způsobem bude v různých částech světa psychoterapeutická teorie i praxe tvořena. Různými způsoby vznikají lokální psychoterapeutické metody, které respektují místní sociokulturní realitu a využívají tradičního poznání (George & Pothan, 2012). Tato dynamika má obousměrný charakter. Světová psychoterapie se tímto způsobem šíří po celém světě, a zároveň se nové psychoterapeutické směry dostávají zpětně do mezinárodního hlavního proudu (Zhao & Qian, 2020).

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the study of current psychotherapeutic trends in the world and their properties. It is a comparative study that analyses the ways in which psychotherapy is disseminated, modified and practiced around the world. Through a method of literature search and study of professional psychotherapy articles, the undergraduate thesis provided an analysis and comparison of global psychotherapy trends, led by the American discourse of evidence-based practice (Roysircar & Hodges, 2012). American psychotherapy has had a defining influence on the direction of global trends and the popularization of particular psychotherapies around the world. Predominantly US-led, global psychotherapy has penetrated all corners of the world regardless of social, political, cultural, racial, or other geographical specificities (Birashk, 2012). The need for the delivery of effective psychotherapeutic help has a specific dynamic in which geographical factors determine how psychotherapeutic theory and practice will be shaped in different parts of the world. In different ways, local psychotherapeutic methods are emerging that respect local sociocultural realities and make use of traditional knowledge (George & Pothan, 2012). This dynamic is bi-directional in nature. In this way, global psychotherapy is spreading around the world, while new psychotherapeutic practices are making their way back into the international mainstream (Zhao & Qian, 2020).
